A recent TimeOut survey has ranked London as the 18th most walkable city in the world—though the results likely reflect conditions in central areas, not the capital as a whole.
TimeOut’s survey is not the most robust survey of public opinion. I am becoming increasingly cranky on this topic. But it is sufficiently robust.
The global ranking placed Abu Dhabi, Boston, and Brighton in the top three, based on feedback from thousands of city residents worldwide. Several other UK cities also appeared in the top 100.
Inner London in particular offers a much better walking experience. The outer boroughs, including Richmond need to improve.
